Marnie is passionate about building cities that work for everyone.


Over the past two decades she has worked in five global cities —  Athens, New York, Sydney, Toronto, and Vancouver.

Over the past two decades she has worked in five global cities —  Athens, New York, Sydney, Toronto, and Vancouver. 


Her areas of expertise include urban planning and policy, strategic communications, stakeholder engagement and government relations. She has demonstrated skill in bringing national and international coalitions and networks together to advocate for local solutions to global issues.


Marnie has worked with Mayors, Members of Parliament and the United States Congress, and the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Marnie is a volunteer with The HOME Project — a non-profit organization providing shelter for unaccompanied refugee children in Athens, Greece. 


She is an Associate with the Simon Fraser University Centre for Dialogue, and a member of the United Nations Association in Canada (UNAC).

  • Marnie is currently the Head of Communications for the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy (GCoM), as well as a strategic advisor for the Pacific Coast Collaborative - both global coalitions of local climate leaders building a low-carbon economy.
  • Marnie is an ad-hoc Validated Expert with URBACT, supporting local authorities and 

  • Marnie is currently the Head of Communications for the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy (GCoM), as well as a strategic advisor for the Pacific Coast Collaborative - both global coalitions of local climate leaders building a low-carbon economy.
  • Marnie is an ad-hoc Validated Expert with URBACT, supporting local authorities and other stakeholders in designing and delivering integrated and participatory sustainable urban mobility policies. 
  • Marnie was part of the 2019 inaugural Climate-KIC Greece Pioneers into Practice Programme; a European Union (EU) climate leadership program working to create innovative new products and services to boost the low-carbon economy.
